Introduction
The ATGO server is now a Mac Mini. His name is Jesus. Mac Minis are good small machines, but they aren’t heavy duty machines. If ATGO was dealing with heavy traffic, something with more grunt would be necessary. Jesus is the sweet spot in noise, size and processing power for what is required for the ATGO server.
Jesus’ main function is to serve the other computers on the network and handle e-mail. The website has always been a secondary consideration. Jesus has a 1.5 GHz Core Solo processor and 512 MB of RAM.
The functions Jesus provides:
- DNS Server
- Print Server
- MySQL Server
- LaTeX
- Mail Server
- Update Repository
- Quota Back Up Repository
- Web Server
- FTP Server
- Remote Administration
